“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” — Isaiah 43:19
There are moments in life when you realize you are no longer preparing—you are becoming. The plans you once wrote in notebooks, whispered in prayers, and postponed for “someday” begin asking for movement instead of permission.
That is where I find myself now.
For decades, I have been writing—ideas sketched in margins, visions captured in journals, stories waiting patiently for their time. And now, in this season, those long-held seeds are beginning to push through the soil. Not all at once. Not perfectly. But intentionally.
This past year has stretched me in ways I didn’t anticipate. Teaching a full ACT course across all subject areas required me to learn deeply so I could teach effectively. Walking alongside students who are finally recognizing the gaps in their learning has clarified my purpose: to reduce anxiety, to fill what’s missing, and to remind them that not knowing is not failure—it’s an invitation to grow.
At the same time, I am stepping more boldly into my calling as a writer and storyteller. Publishing fiction. Developing devotionals. Helping others shape their memoirs, grants, and organizational stories. Writing the vision for a future that includes retirement from the classroom—not as an ending, but as a continuation into service, creativity, and impact.
Blooming, I am learning, does not always look orderly. Sometimes it looks like a week that slips by because you are doing the work. Sometimes it looks like worship, travel, rest, and celebration woven together. Sometimes it looks like trusting that growth is happening even when you pause to catch your breath.
This entry is not an “app” yet. It is a reminder that before anything new installs, the heart must be ready to receive it. A new chapter is opening—and I am walking into it with gratitude, faith, and expectancy.
Life Application:
Pay attention to the seasons when movement replaces planning. They are often signs that growth is already underway.
In love and charity,
Giselle (aka) Blooming-Lillie
