Today is International Women’s Day, and in the spirit of Women’s History Month, I’m thinking about the women whose lives have shaped the world—both the ones history remembers and the ones whose names may never appear in books.
Women carry generations. We nurture dreams, hold families together, build communities, and often change lives in quiet, unseen ways. In many ways, we carry the world in our wombs—literally and spiritually.
For me, the woman at the center of my story is my mother. Her strength, wisdom, sacrifice, and love shaped the woman I became. Her footprint is all over my life.
But today isn’t only about one woman. It’s about all the women whose lives have left an imprint on ours—grandmothers, mothers, sisters, teachers, mentors, aunties, friends, and even women who stepped in as surrogate mothers for someone who needed guidance.
So I’d love for you to join me in honoring them.
💐 In the comments, share:
• A photo of a woman who impacted your life
• Her name
• One sentence about how she inspired, guided, or strengthened you
Later, I’d love to gather these stories and images into a visual tribute so we can see the powerful legacy of women—famous and everyday—who helped shape our lives.
Because when women rise, nurture, teach, and lead… the world changes.
In love and charity,
Giselle (aka) Blooming-Lillie
